Research Lab Building

The new six-story, 270,000 sf UCSF Weill Neurosciences Building is located in an urban setting, on their new Mission Bay Campus. It houses state-of-the-art wet and dry research laboratories, as well as clinics for patients with brain and nervous system disorders. Site and underground construction for the project was complicated by unique soils challenges due to the building's location on infill, in close proximity to the bay.

Role:

Field Architect for Site and Underground Construction, co-located on-site for Construction Administration. Intensive coordination of the "Site & Underground Package" with Contractor, Geotech, Civil, M/E/P Infrastructure, Structural, Landscape Architect and Architectural (Mark Cavagnero Associates and SmithGroup).
