Valley Children's "Twins"

When a premier children's hospital in California's Central Valley decided to build new pediatric outpatient specialty centers, an opportunity to explore branding and design of a new and unique health experience for children and families came to life. The design team created a prototype that embodies Valley Children's brand and conveys the theme 'fun and laughter is the best medicine'. A second building quickly followed. Both buildings were design/build partnerships with the same General Contractor. Technical challenges included a cantilevered ribbon stair, a radiant chilled terrazzo floor and triple-glazed double-fritted curved glass.

Role:

Project Architect / Project Manager leading design team staff, drawing coordination, communications across disciplines, point of contact for client and contractor and managing stakeholder expectations - Entitlements through Opening Day.
